CLASSIC & ELEGANT: THE BEAUTY OF BLACK TILE

Wednesday, September 4, 2019

Black is always in style. A timeless and classic choice, black is a go-to for interior designs and architects. So be bold and explore how you can incorporate the dramatic colour into your residential and commercial projects, the results can produce beautiful, memorable spaces.

Once you decide to go with black, there are still many choices to be considered - do you want a completely black tile or one with hints of colour? Should it have a particular texture? What size of tile best suits your space? Do you want a tile inspired by natural stone?

Black wall tiles

Deciding to go with black for your wall tiles opens a world of opportunity. You may want to select a dramatic pattern tile that combines black with another colour to create a playful pattern. Or you can select an all-black wall, which will give a room an elegant, uniform look.

Black tile and patterns

You can play around with different colours that go well with black, or with different shapes - or both! Our White/Black Matte hexagon tile from the Ontario series, offers a playful black and white pattern

If you prefer to stick to a uniform black colour, you can still select different eye-catching shapes. The classic chevron pattern tile from our Colour and Dimension series in Black is a great choice. The Penny Round series offers a gorgeous mosaic style in Black, which can work well on residential floors and walls, or commercial walls.

Black Natural Stone

Looking for a black tile inspired by the colours you see in nature? Our Regal series is inspired by natural limestone but is durable enough to be used on both floors and walls. The colour Jet Black is a beautiful dark shade which will fit beautifully in a variety of spaces.

You can also combine the beauty of natural stone with a playful tile shape with our Roma series, which is inspired by the timeless look of marble. The colour Grafiteal is available in a hexagon pattern or in a classic rectangular shape.

The Eterna series is another great choice if you’re looking to add a natural look to your floors or walls. It’s a marbleized design available in the black Nero Marquina colour. You can use just the black colour on its own, or add another colour to create a beautiful pattern.

Our Marmorea series is another option to explore for a dark marble look. The Port Laurent tile brings together the intricacy of dark marble to a porcelain tile. It’s also available in a basket decor pattern

Pure black

The black hexagon gloss tile from the Ontario Series can add a refined look to any room, with its shiny dark hue. Our Colour and Dimension series offers a Black colour in a wide range of sizes, and in a matte or a bright finish.

Black with a hint of colour

You may not be ready to commit to an entirely black floor or wall tile, and that’s okay. We have some beautiful selections which are mostly black but have hints of other hues. The Oxidatio series is a great example of this, its Palladium tile has an oxidized metal design, perfect for industrial-inspired spaces.

Black with a hint of texture

Another great option if you’re looking for a black tile with something a little bit special is our Merge Series tile, which combines a variety of surfaces for a unique design. It’s a safe choice for even the highest traffic floors, so it’ll fit well in both residential and commercial projects. The Titanium colour offers a beautiful dark hue.

We hope you have been inspired to consider using black in your next project. If you have more questions, please do not hesitate to contact us or visit one of our locations. Our product experts would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
